We have 2 good local pubs in the village:-

The Saxon Arms (2 minutes walk)

The Bakers Arms (15 minutes walk)

We have 3 shops:-

The Gold Hill Organic Farm Shop who grow their

own organic produce they also have a lovely

cafe open Wednesday to Sunday

The Cross Stores, which is a general store selling everything you could possibly need!

The Post Office which also has a tea room offering delicious cakes!

Things to do:

We are surrounded by fantastic walking country, the River Stour meanders around the outskirts of the village following the newly opened Sturminster to Shillingstone Trailway. For the more challenging routes there is Hambledon Hill an iron age hillfort covered recently by time team a near vertical ascent takes you up to the best views in Dorset and the option of walking across the top and to a great pub 'The Cricketers' in Iwerne Courtenay (Shroton).
